Trainer Gary Contessa didn’t need to sweat out the results of a photo finish in Saturday’s $141,675 Lady Finger Stakes. That’s because he had both New York-bred 2-year-old fillies involved in the tight finish.

Dunn Listening, making her second career start, ran down her more accomplished stablemate Evrbydmstgetstonz by a head in deep stretch to earn her first win in the six-furlong sprint.
Evrybdymstgetstonz, winner of her career debut at Belmont Park and fourth in a pair of stakes at Saratoga, looked like an easy winner in midstretch, when she held a 3 1/2-length lead, but tired noticeably, allowing Dunn Listening ($17.40) to mount a late rally under Angel Arroyo. Dunn Listening, a $30,000 purchase at this spring’s OBS sale, reached the wire first in 1:12.73.
Irish Heroine finished third, 2 1/4 lengths in back of the runner-up, as the 5-2 favorite in a field of 14.
In the co-featured $127,063 Aspirant for 2-year-old colts and geldings, heavy favorite Tiz Time to Shine ran down tiring leaders Fallfire and Deputy Busterstone in the stretch to score by three-quarters of a length.
Shipped in from Saratoga, where he was second as the odds-on favorite in a maiden race on Aug. 10, Tiz Time to Shine ($2.70) ran six furlongs in 1:13.31 for jockey Jaime Rodriguez and trainer Chad Brown.
Summer Brother, the only horse in the field of six to own a victory coming into the stakes, surged late to get second at 6-1. Deputy Busterstone finished third.
