FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Renowned American Thoroughbred Trainer Opens Opportunities
for Prospective International Owners

New York City and Saratoga Springs, NY—Most fans of horse racing are intrigued by the thought of horse ownership–of becoming involved with the sport on a more intimate level than merely attending the races.  Owning a horse, or a percentage of a horse, is part of the dream for many.  Growing the sport by bringing in new fans is important–thank you, American Pharoah–but growing life-long horse race fans is essential to the future of the sport.  And the most reliable ways to grow a fanbase that’s in it for Life is by educating and bringing in new owners:  the next steps to sold, long-term growth of the sport.

To this end, renowned American Thoroughbred Trainer, Gary Contessa today announced that he is opening opportunities to prospective horse owners who live outside the United States.   International race fans see American racing through the lens of the media–but horse ownership offers an entirely different, more intimate perspective.  A perspective that’s more true to Reality, than can be experienced simply by observing.

In 2015, Contessa began kicking down figurative barn doors when he created a series of Clinics for race fans during the Saratoga meet, and developed Gary Contessa Television on YouTube.  (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3ylV4I7qDGO8dxPJ2neuIA ).  In so doing, he became the first—perhaps the only—Thoroughbred Trainer in the world to create a YouTube channel with the goal of educating the world about Thoroughbreds and the beautiful world of horse racing.

“If we want to grow the sport, it has to begin one-on-one:  educate the public—teach them about horses, and everything about the sport—from ownership to medical care, to pedigree and conformation.  A person educated about horses and racing then can become a real, life-long fan.”

The next logical step in education is to help international race fans and those who’ve always wondered what it would be like—to learn about ownership of an American Thoroughbred.  This is an unusual move for an American race horse Trainer.  But Contessa—a revered professional, with over 30 years’ experience in the Thoroughbred racing industry—long has observed that, while American racing and international racing finally are working together to create truly great world racing—there is much work to be done in order to unify the sport around the planet at the grassroots level.

And, while many people from the Middle East; Europe; Japan; Australia; Hong Kong; South Africa and South/Central America come to the United States to race their horses—there seems to be little interaction in the area of offerings of American Thoroughbreds to international fans who may wish to get involved at the ownership level, with American-bred Thoroughbreds.

One need not be royal or otherwise uber-wealthy in order to buy into an American Thoroughbred; in fact, the majority of American race horses are owned in partnerships.  (A partnership being a group of people who get together to buy and race a horse.)  And, while Contessa doesn’t do partnerships per se—he buys horses and opens the opportunity for prospective owners to buy into the horse.  Whether a prospective owner wants 2.5%, 5%, 10% or 100% of a fine New York-, Kentucky-, Maryland- or Florida-bred—Gary Contessa has a horse who financially and emotionally meets the desires of virtually every prospective.

Breeding incentives in New York are the best in the United States, and many of the horses trained by Contessa are New Yorkers.  But whichever pedigree, state of breeding or price-range—there’s a horse for every new owner.

Members of the media; horse lovers and prospective owners are invited to contact Contessa or his Director of Communications at any time for more information on race horse ownership in America.  Whether you’re from Dubai, Abu Dhabi (or other UAE Emirate); Hong Kong; Australia, the UK, France, South Africa, Japan, South America, Scandinavia or China—Gary Contessa would like to speak with you, and make  your dreams of American Thoroughbred ownership become a reality.

America and the world are working together to bring racing to a place of truly international, cooperative dialogue.  And the foundation of that dialogue, as Contessa says, is always The Horse.   Ownership and all the benefits of ownership of an American race horse can only help break down barriers, and make ours a truly united sport that has solid footing as we move into the future.
