Clik here to view. Gary Contessa‘s new trainee–the beautiful, big, two-year-old white Thoroughbred, Artic Storm Cat (see article below this one, under News) works out on the Oklahoma. (Oklahoma Training Track at Saratoga Race Course, in Saratoga Springs, New York.)
He grazes on lush, green grass; eats his hay and feed like a Roman warrior and greets new friends and fans with a smile, and grace that belies his relative youth. Many people have commented, that he’s very self-aware, and confident. None of the insanity that plagues many two-year-old Thoroughbreds seems to reflect in Artic Storm Cat’s demeanor, or in his interactions with humans and other animals.
He’s a very busy horse–fresh out of conditioning at In Front Training Center, he’s learning the ropes of the horse racing industry. And so far, he’s very good at taking in his lessons, and giving Gary and his Assistants what they ask of him.
One would think that a horse who’s this busy would have no time to pay attention to social media, but apparently Artic Storm Cat can multi-task with the best of ’em. He overheard people as they posted photos to their FaceBook pages on Tuesday after Gary’s Horse Psychology clinic–and of course, the curious equine had to know more.
So we explained it to him, and of course he was delighted to know that his new fans from the Clinic were posting his photos to their FaceBook pages. But that wasn’t enough: the savvy white son of Bluegrass Cat asked us to set up a FaceBook page of his very own, so he can help fans and friends keep track of his workouts and new photos.
So–since he has no thumbs–I volunteered to create Artic Storm Cat’s own, official FaceBook page.
So far, he’s pleased. (He hopes that his owners [Dad and Mom], Auggie and Patricia Renzine–get more wonderful memories from this new part of their experience together.)
I thought at first that he was being a ham, when he asked me to invite his friends to submit their own videos and photos, so that they can be shared on his page. (Then I realized that, he’s not a ham–just delighted, that so many people are taking such an intense interest in him.) Image may be NSFW.

So…if you’ve not-yet “liked” Artic Storm Cat’s FaceBook page…if you have photos, videos or comments…if you want to know more…please check out the URL below.
Artic Storm Cat welcomes you to his FaceBook page. (He asks that you do “like” it, so that you have full access to anything he may want you to know, as it comes into his mind.)
Gary Contessa thanks you for getting to know his new trainee. I would thank you, but I’m too busy acting as the magical horse’s thumbs.
